Products and Suppliers
So now your ready to find a product and a suppler. Start by making a list of keywords,
hobbies, interests. When making your list get detailed. You could use volleyball or volleyball
shirts, volleyball long sleeve shirts, volleyball pictures or volleyball picture frame. Look up each
of these key words and on
Google (look under the search bar and you will see how many
people demand this word) and see how many searches you get. Remember, when thinking
supply is the number of competitors you will have. Go to
yahoo (look on the left side in the bar
and  it will tell you what the supply is for this word) search engine and type your keywords
again and see how many competitors you have. Anything under 4 million is a good word term
to use.  Picking products you are interested in or something you are skilled at, will help you
stay motivated about the idea. Motivation is the #1 thing to started any business. You have to
want to do it for it to happen.
What is a product niche? Niche is defined as a specific or targeted area or product of supply
& demand. Volleyball covers a wider area, but volleyball shoes or volleyball knee pads are
specific. Search the Internet and see what kind of and how many people are looking for the
same thing. Check out your competitors websites and get an idea of how to build your own
site. Look for something no one else has. Now you want to find a supplier to purchase your
product from, one that will work with you & provide the product at a reasonable price. Things
to think about. What do you want to sell? Who are you going to sell it to? How are you going
to sell it to your customers. Make sure you ask these questions when talking to a supplier. Do
you wholesale? Do you drop ship? Will you allow me to sell your product on the Internet?
These three questions you want the supplier to answer yes. Do you have a minimum order
amount? No is good, so you can start at your own pace. You may need to go through a few
before you find the one you like. The supplier will need some information like, your name, your
purpose (Internet sales, marketing or Service). You want to be a reseller. Your contact phone
number or address. They may ask for your tax ID number, Account information to insure you
are a legitimate company, & references. You can find a list of suppliers at
CJ . You can look
up other companies like CJ.
Programs like CJ are designed to help you and the supplier. The supplier will allow you to use
their links on your website and get a commission when a sale is made. Once you have a
website and sign up with cj.com then you can just type in the product you want to market and
they will give you a list of supplier, you then submit a description of your website and then they
will get in touch with you and supply you with links, banners, coupons & promotions to help
you get going. There are some supplies out there that will ship for you and all you have to do
is get a catalog and sell the product. Or if you prefer you can have the items shipped to you
and then you ship it to the customers. Don't forget to check the shipping fees.
Keep in mind to look for how long they have been in business, what kind of exposure they
have and what the commission pay is for the products what currency they pay you in. Do they
pay you for the sales made or do they pay you for the leads you give them. Maybe even both.
If you are new you may want to contact the supplier personally and explain to them your just
starting out and if they can help and give you a chance. And if they have anything information
they can provide you with to help you out. Start a relationship with your supplier and gain each
other's trust to have success. Keep in mind you may need to go through a few different
suppliers to find the one you want to work with. You may get a lot of no because they want
sales and a lot of them and don't want to waste time on maybes so always email them and
ask for help. You can alway check and see how long a business has been in business and
check with the
better business bureau to see if a business is listed or what kind of business
they are Click here for
